Summer Holiday Packing Checklist – Travel Essentials


All set for holidays? It’s super exciting time. It is far too easy to let your excitement become clouded by the stress of pre-holiday arrangements though. Packing for holidays can be very time consuming and confusing too. You want to make sure it’s absolutely perfect as there are so many things to think about. It can also be stressful if you haven’t had the time to create a holiday packing checklist. Don’t worry, the hard part is done here, use this summer holiday packing checklist and begin packing!


Top Tip: Keep photocopies of all the important documents and also email a copy of them to yourself.

  • Day and evening dresses
  • A light jacket/cardigan
  • Shorts/skirts
  • Pyjamas/Nightwear
  • Tops, vests, T-shirts
  • Bikinis/swimwear
  • Undergarments
  • Flip flops
  • A pair of Trainers/flats for walking
  • A pair of Heels/wedges

Top Tip: Its very easy to over-pack but bear in mind half of the things will rarely get the chance to use. So be easy and pack light.

  • Sun hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Handbag (day/evening)
  • Beach bag
  • Watch
  • Jewellery

Top Tip: Pack the jewellery matching with the outfits you are taking on holiday rather than the entire jewellery box.



  • Sun Cream with (SPF 15 at least)
  • After-sun Cream
  • Face Mist (to keep your face fresh all day)
  • Lip balm
  • Face Wash
  • Face and body lotion
  • Hand cream
  • Lip & cheek tint
  • CC cream/tinted moisturiser
  • Waterproof mascara
  • Eyeliner
  • Nail polish
  • Deodorant/Perfume
  • Hairbrush
  • Hairdryer
  • Straighteners/Curler

Top Tip: Remember to check your Baggage Allowance every time you travel as it can vary between Airlines. Going over that allowance can leave you with a hefty fine.

  • Toothpaste
  • Shower gel
  • Shampoo/conditioner/Dry Shampoo
  • Shaving cream/Razors
  • Sanitary towels/tampons
  • Wet wipes
  • Insect repellent
  • Hand sanitizers

Top Tip: Most of the hotels provide basic toiletry and hairdryer facility, in that case, no need to pack them.



TopTip: Use a vacuum pack to keep all of your clothes packed neatly together and take less space. Wear your heavy items. It will not only save space in your case, you’ll also save on baggage allowance.

This checklist comes handy when you have less time for packing for the holiday. I hope I’ve covered everything you might need but my list is not definitive. If you are going on a particular type of holiday then you may need to add specific items.
